SO MUCH ACTIVITIES!!!

Just took a look at my schedule for the next few days, and HOLY CRAP!, I have a lot going on. Aside from the normal, everyday, human adult things I’m trying to do today, like laundry and apartment cleaning, I have to finish up that Phil Hughes painting that has been kicking my ass like Popeye on a spinach bender, and design a new podcast logo and flyer to start promoting the show out in the big, scary, offline, three-dimensional, real world. I’m also still searching for a guest for Tuesday’s Yankee podcast (say YES, Kim Jones!).

Here’s a list of some of other cool shit going on and some cool places you may (or may not) see me.

  • Like every weekend this summer, you can catch me working the camera for the TV show over at Monmouth Park Racetrack. It’s always a great time, so come on down and, if you’re near the winner’s circle, say Hi. (I just hope it’s not a thousand damn degrees again)
  • Saturday night at The Stone Pony catch Last Perfect Thing. They’re pretty damn awesome and are gonna be swingin’ by the studio in a little over a week for a podcast. They’ve been nice enough to put me on the guest list, so you may very well see me there… alone and in a corner typing half-drunk into my blackberry.
  • Sunday night the great Bill Coyle of improv comedy group Helicopter Dance Off will be coming by the studio to help me with the Monday Morning Hangover podcast. We’ll be riffing on the week that was, and answer a few listener questions.
  • On Monday I’m meeting with the producer and director of “Falling To Pieces”, a short film that will be shot in and around Asbury Park to be entered in the Project Twenty1 Film Festival. I’m gonna be doing a little  acting and camera work on it. They’re currently looking for cast and crew. Details can be found here.
  • Monday night it’s the Best of Monmouth Summer Festival from Monmouth Health & Life Magazine. I’ll be there doing some live drawing, painting, and podcasting. I may even sing a song or two.
  • Finally (phew!) on Tuesday night, at the BlueClaws’ FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, it’s a Jersey Shore Summer Tweetup. Come meet your twitter and facebook friends in the flesh have a dog, a few beers, and catch some great minor league baseball. Details here.

After that I will crawl back into my hole, away from the sunlight, to draw, paint, podcast, and watch my Jodie Foster videos in private.

CM Paints The Blue Claws Tomorrow!

Tomorrow evening, boys and girls, I make my triumphant return to my birthplace of Lakewood, NJ (I’m still waiting on that sign, Lakewood) to do a live painting of the scene from First Energy Park, home of your Lakewood Blue Claws!  If you’re a baseball fan, hitting up First Energy for a Blue Claws game is always a fun night out, and tomorrow night it’s gonna be so damn good James Earl Jones himself might pop out of the cornfield to deliver a soul-stirring speech about it. I’ll be setting up my easel out on the concourse and doing what we in the art biz call a plein-air style painting of First Energy in all it’s summer finery. So, be sure to pick up some tickets, then come take a peek over my shoulder to see genius in action. Just, please do not speak to me or make eye contact. THE MASTER MUST NOT BE DISTURBED! (Just kidding. Come say hi and even shake my hand. Just don’t complain when you get paint on you.)

In addition to my breathtaking and inspiring presence, it’s also Thirsty Thursday! You can grab yourself some dollar beers and .50 cent wings. NOTHING goes better with my art than beer and wings. As if THAT weren’t enough, there will also be members of the Red Bulls signing autographs and auctioning off jerseys for those of you against using your hands in sports. (I kid, soccer fans. You know I love you.) And, get this, you’ll even have the chance to win SKYNYRD tickets. Sweet home, Alabama? Tomorrow it’s sweet home LAKEWOOD.

So there you go, kids. Stop fretting and drinking yourself to death wondering what to do tomorrow night. YOU HAVE YOUR MISSION. Get on over to First Energy park in Lakewood, NJ and have yourself more fun than the proverbial barrel full of monkeys.*

*A barrel  full of monkeys is only fun in the proverbial sense. In real life it would be a nightmarish descent into a screeching and clawing hell that would haunt you for the rest of your life.

CM Podcast – Helicopter Dance Off

Helicopter Jazz Hands

Craig talks to 3/5 of Long Branch’s own improv comedy group, Helicopter Dance Off. They discuss the group’s history, play some improv games, and reflect on incestuous makeout sessions and robot cockblockery that took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

CM Podcast – Monday Hangover Edition

On today’s Podcast, Craig fights through exhaustion to bring you his take on life as an anatomically correct male, remind you what everyone always forgets about Jersey Shore summers, and tell you that not liking the World Cup doesn’t make you a close-minded, xenophobic “Ugly American”.

Podcast, April 30th, 2010 – Amber Forbes

I wanted to get this up last Friday, but WordPress was being a little bitch about me signing in, so… For those of you who didn’t get a chance to listen over the weekend, here’s my podcast with Amber Forbes of jerseyshoredivas.com. We chat about Jersey Shore Restaurant Week, some great local eating and watering holes, and I finally reveal the crazy, soap-opera tale about my ex-wife, my ex-friend, and why I left my last job.
