JSR Week Art Auction

For those of you who weren’t aware, last week was Jersey Shore Restaurant Week ’round these here parts. It’s a great event held twice a year with a bunch of different events and tastings going on at some of the area’s bars, lounges, and restaurants. The kick-off party was held on Thursday, April 15th, and myself and a few other artists were invited to take part in the event by doing some live painting. Exactly what we were to paint was completely up to us, but it had to, in some way, evoke the spirit of the event.

Now that all the pieces are finished, they’re being auctioned off on eBay. Half of the proceeds will be going to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. The other half will be going to the artists themselves, including yours truly. The auction’s being run through my eBay account, and you can see all the items here.

My personal piece is called “Grapejuice & Sharkskin”. It’s more than a bit different from most of what you’ve seen out of me, but I want to start doing a lot more of these retro-looking cartoon pieces. They’re more fun to draw than spending hours trying to line up the pinstripes and wrinkles in Derek Jeter’s jersey, that’s for sure.

Here’s my piece, along with all the others.  Click on each to be taken to it’s auction page:

Hey, boys and girls! Welcome to the NEW Craig Mahoney Studios blog. I’ve moved from blogger to WordPress. I’m still figuring out how I want this whole thing set up and whether or not I can move my posts from the old blog over to this one, but the good news is that WordPress has a BlackBerry app. So, I’ll be able to do a lot more mogile blogging. I will, hopefully, have this whole thing up and running the way I want it by Monday with all sorts of new art, podcast, and other nonsense. So, for the few of you who had the old blog bookmarked, change your settings accordingly.
